When It Rains, It Pours

The last couple weeks have been trying for many different reasons. Just these last couple weeks, the rains have started coming down. Pretty much everyday is wet. Here's a view from the parking at the office out into the street. The water is over 6" deep here.

Many of you probably heard on the news about the blasts that had happened here in the city. It was a little unnerving at first, but once we found out more information we didn't feel threatened. The blasts had occurred in the eastern half of the city and we live on the west side. The day after though, Kristen and I stayed in and bummed at her place for the day.

During all of this, there was the large thunderstorm that hit RI and wiped out our networks. They did not have permanent power for 4 days. Generators kept the server running so the US offices were not affected too much, but since we are on the opposite side of the world, some of our operations had to adjust. This wasn't the only time we had computer problems. You don't realize how much you rely on the machine until you cannot use it the way you want.

Hopefully we've gotten through the rough patches and it can be smooth sailing from here on out.
