An Indian Wedding

Vevaik and Vibha invited us to their wedding. Vevaik is one of the team leaders for the mechanical department and has been very helpful to us. The night before the wedding, Kristen and I went to see some traditional dancing. Unfortunately, it was late that night and we didn't stay long enough.

We did get to see the women blessing Vibha. Here's a picture of us with the happy couple.

The next day, Kristen went to the entire day of activities. Marty and I went to work and then came for some of the evening celebrations. First off, we witnessed/participated in the Barat. The groom is taken on horseback to his bride. The family and friends form a parade and there is music with dancing.

It was really neat and interesting to see the traditions. I didn't understand some of it, but still pretty cool. Here are some pictures - Vibha's mehandi, Vevaik and Vibha awaiting the reception of gifts, and the couple during the ceremony.

Lastly, I took some photos after getting home. Here are my bangles. The small blue ones rubbed off onto my skin and I had to scrub hard to get it off. I also figured out how to use the timer function and was able to get my whole outfit.
