Weekend Happenings

This past weekend we had our Friday night dinner. Kristen and I invited some other Americans to join us. We had a good laugh because we kept going to the wrong locations and ultimately it took us over 1/2 hour to get to the restaurant. It could have been a 5 minute drive. Here's all of us having a good time over Italian food.


The next day we planned for another traditional day where everyone could dress in saris or kurtas. Those darn rains foiled us again. It rained that morning and very few came in their traditional wear. That's okay. Those of us who did had a great time posing for photos. From the left is Rohini, Kristen, Jignesh, Nishant, Barat, me and Jahnvi.

I think Kristen and I amazed some people by wrapping the saris ourselves. We figured being engineers we ought to be able to follow directions. Right? We did good and it didn't take us long either. Apparently, we only messed up one thing - the direction the pleats in the skirt were pointed. Guess next we'll make sure we do it correct.
